Daydreaming was a favourite activity of Lucy's and the girl was usually found daydreaming when she wasn't practising or playing her trumpet. This time, she was daydreaming about her brother as she was missing him. Lucy had never been this far away from her brother before. Whilst she was daydreaming, the redhead was playing with her union jack charm bracelet which she had been given as a present by her parents when the girl told them she had been accepted at a new school in America.
The sixteen year old missed her family which was expected as she had been away from them for three months. At that moment, Lucy's thoughts were interrupted by the sound of the girl's tummy rumbling. This was a signal to get out of the dorm as she was just moping around. Jumping off her bed, making sure she landed on her feet, Lucy pulled her grey vans out from under her bed and slipped them onto her feet and did her laces up. Her dorm was remarkably tidy compared to the state of her room in England. Grabbing her iphone from the corner of her bedside table, Lucy then put the device in her pocket and headed out of her dorm, making sure that she closed the door and locked it.
Walking down the corridor, Lucy finally reached the door. She grabbed hold of the handle and pushed hard on the door. Walking through the now open door, the redhead walked down the next corridor. She had never been to the faculty lounges before so she didn't know where they were. About 5 minutes later, Lucy saw some other students walkign towards somewhere in the school "Excuse me. You wouldn't happen to know where the VAPA lounge is?" the girl questioned, still confused. "Just follow this corridor and you'll reach it." One of the students answered. "Thank you." Lucy replied as a big smile appeared on her face. Now she was less confused, which allowed the girl to skip happily along the corridor.
The next thing she knew, Lucy found herself in the lounge. Hurrying over to one of the sofas, the sixteen year old hrew herself down onto it and made herself comfy. Taking her iphone out, Lucy then opened up the internet and started to log in to facebook. [/style] |

Luc had been sitting in the VAPA lounge for about fifteen minutes now, just watching people. He still didn't have any true friends to his name yet aside from Felix, and today he was on the prowl to try and find some more. After he'd established, through meeting Felix, that not all the people here in this school were snobs and had daddy's money at their ultimate disposal, the boy had since decided that he would make the effort with more people than hiding away. Especially considering this hiding thing wasn't in his nature. He just needed to work out who he would try and befriend, and that was why he was simply watching his peers for now. He wasn't stalling... no... not at all.
He continued his observational tactics as a girl from his tier opened the door and swiftly made for the last available sofa. Promptly, she plopped down on it and got out her phone. Lucas wasn't sure whether this was to avoid social contact or not. Regardless, he decided that the girl was who he'd be making an effort to befriend today. "Hey," he spoke softly - he didn't want to disturb her too much, but he did want to prise her away from her phone - "You can't just hog that whole couch and not talk to anyone, you know." He grinned. Then, almost immediately, he wondered how seriously she'd actually take that. Maybe because he was the principals' son, she could think it was really a requirement of visiting a lounge... "I'm just kidding!" He decided to add at the last second with a grin, hoping it didn't make a weird first impression. He was making a habit of weird first impressions.

She hadn't noticed any of the other students that were in the room with her as she had been too busy on actually making herself comfy on the sofa she was on. Looking up from her iphone, Lucy glanced all around the lounge until her gaze stopped on a boy sitting on one of the other sofas opposite her.
"Hey" the red haired girl heard the boy say which was quickly followed by "You can't just hog that whole couch and not talk to anyone, you know." It seemed like the boy was trying to joke around but Lucy wasn't really sure how to take it until he announced that he was only kidding. "I wasn't actually sure how to take it" Lucy replied with a slight smile. I'm not the only one hogging a sofa." The girl added, her smile widening the longer she thought about it. [/style] |

Lucas smiled back reassuringly as the girl remarked that she was unsure how to take him messing around until he had cleared it as a joke. He was just about to apologise for his unusual way of saying hi when she continued, stating she wasn't the only one hogging a sofa. Luc raised his eyebrows and chuckled at this, shaking his head, granting her a "Touché!" The boy was surprised that she'd responded with such sass after initially feeling taken aback by him. He could already tell that he'd made a good choice of a new friend.
"So, what's so interesting on your phone then?" Luc nodded over at the device in the girl's hand. "Temple Run? Cut the Rope? Tetris?" He stopped himself before he reeled off a whole list of popular games that he enjoyed playing on his own phone, which he noticed was similar to hers. Then he remembered he'd failed to introduce himself, which he immediately redeemed, shooting his hand out for a casual shake and adding, "I'm Luc, by the way!"

[style=font-family: times; font-size: 12px; letter-spacing: 1px; text-transform: lowercase; color: #989898; font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;] 384 WORDS FOR lucasDREAM [/style] | [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,450,true][atrb=cellSpacing,0,true][atrb=cellPadding,0,true][atrb=style, background-color: #6d6d6d;] [style=padding: 10px; text-align: justify; font-family: arial; font-size: 10px; height: 475px; overflow: auto; color: #1e1e1e;]Lucy didn't think she would have been able to make friends this quick especially as she had mostly been used to hanging around with her brother or her friends back in england. Being a long way away from her brother was helping the girl come out of her shell. As she continued her thoughts, the girl heard a chuckle come from the boy, followed quickly by a Touché. Lucy didn't really know how to respond so instead of saying anything, she shyly smiled whilst playing with a stray fire red curl with her right hand as she was still holding her iphone in her left hand.
Looking down at the device, she saw a text from her brother. Sending a quick text back, Lucy then looked up from the phone to see the boy looking over at the phone to try and deduce what she was doing. "So, what's so interesting on your phone then?" the sixteen year old heard the boy ask. Lucy didn't want to be rude to the boy as it wasn't in her nature so she took a quick glance to see if there was a text before looking back up and replying. "Nothing really. Just facebook and texts from my brother" Lucy knew her brother was missing her just as much as she was missing him. "Temple Run? Cut the Rope? Tetris?" Snapping out of her thoughts, the sixteen year old heard the boy ask if she was playing the popular apps you could get for the iphone. "Nah, I'm not playing them currently, but i have played them before. Mostly Temple Run though." The girl replied. "I'm sort of addicted to Temple Run actually." Lucy quickly added with a slight giggle on the end.
Thinking about the games on her iphone, she thought back to the competitions that she used to have with her brother back in England when they were younger. Lucy realised she hadn't introduced herself yet to the boy sitting opposite but just as she was about to open her mouth to speak, the boy decided he was going to introduce himself. "I'm Luc, by the way!" By the way he introduced himself, Lucy deduced that Luc was a bit excitable at times. "Hi Luc, I'm Lucy." The girl responded, her english accent showing more. [/style] |

It seemed the girl had something on her mind as Luc watched her text on her phone and play with her hair absent-mindedly. That was, unless she was starstruck by his celebrity prowess... or she was doing that flirting technique. That would be awkward. But he was pretty sure just from the few minutes he'd spent with her that she wasn't the type to do either of those things. So fortunately he didn't have to do the whole "sorry, you're gorgeous but I'm gay" thing he'd had to do a couple times before. It was strange that he'd had to do it at all, now he thought about it, considering how much media attention his sexuality had had.
Lucas realised he'd been right about something prying on her mind when she told him that she was exchanging texts with her brother - homesickness was what was on her mind. He could empathise with her there, although he knew he had it nowhere near as bad - her English accent gave away that she was far, far from her family and friends. But despite the fact that his entire family, even Tawny, had made the move to Boothbay Harbour, he missed New York a lot. It was a world away from this quiet, serene little place in Maine.
The girl introduced herself as Lucy and Luc smiled warmly in response. Then, inevitably, his curious side got the better of him - "So, whereabouts you from in England--" he started, then stopped, realising he recognised her. The other night, Luc's dance class had been rehearsing a group dance with some of the school band playing the music for them. The collaboration had worked out perfectly, considering the band was looking for an opportunity to sight-read and dancing was a hundred times better when you performed to live music. "You were there in the band when we were rehearsing, right?" Luc had been meaning to thank the band members for coming along since that night, but they'd left after he'd taken his shower, so he was glad to have come across one of the team now.
