Luc had only just met up with Reed since the family had made the move over to OASIS in late September last year, but it was a different story with his other priority - Benji. The boy knew that his little adoptive brother wouldn't have been okay to just leave alone for a while to allow him to settle in, unlike with their older brother, who seemed to love the peace that came with loneliness. Lucas had been waltzing into the Lovejoy dorms (sometimes with Jessica, but usually without - she had better things to do, it seemed), whisking Ben off to do something social every week at least. If he hadn't been doing that, he knew that the only social contact his brother would be having would be when he was either around his peers and teachers during classes, or if one of the others, Tawny or Pip or someone, came along to say hi.
Luc imagined-- no, knew that Pip would have been the one to pay the most visits. The twins were naturally pretty inseparable, and he had to hide his envy of that. Even though the boy knew that this family was his own, and that his adoptive parents and siblings were as good as blood relatives, there was always that occasionally niggling feeling of being different. But Luc being Luc, he had always hidden that insecurity deep inside him. What he liked best about the twins was that despite their differences, both of them shared a sweet naivety that came with being of that age. Luc always found this pleasantly refreshing, being 3 years ahead of them. Especially considering he spent a lot of his time around people his own age, who were rounding the most cliquey, competitive, douchebag stages of their lives (but of course, Luc himself liked to think he was above all that).
Today, Luc was taking his adoptive brother to the springtime fair which had just set up shop in town. Boothbay Harbor may have been a relatively small town, but with the school had come some perks like this. The money that the school fed into the area was clearly already benefiting things around here, which Luc liked. He knew that some people had been sceptical of his parents' schooling ideas, but he had always had faith in them, as ever, and he was glad and proud to see it flourishing just so. Walking up to the fairground with a few minutes to spare, Luc was surprised not to see his brother already hanging around - he was the type to turn up a little early, just to be sure. Not yet worried about Benji's whereabouts, Lucas positioned himself just outside the entrance to wait for his brother, knowing he wouldn't be long.
